This workshop is aimed to all artists, students and creatives from all generations interested in animation as an artistic and creative medium who are willing to explore this expression beyond the classical boundaries of linear narrative and to expand their creative skills in this specific branch. The workshop will focus on the exploration of 2D traditional techniques of animation and experimentation with time and expression.
The participants will be first introduced to a diversity of visual languages built through experiment and discovery and to the work of artists like William Kentridge, David Lynch, Norman McLaren, Marcel Jankovics, Jan Svankmajer and many more.
In this evening workshop, participants will be introduced to experimental and improvisation methods of animation that will allow the creative process to be spontaneous and fluid – making it possible in a concentrated afternoon to create a full-blown and developed animation.
